EVERY SPARK PLUG IS ARCHING! 4th of July under the hood!

Well now were getting somewhere. For about a week the car has been running very rough at idle, under acceleration, everything. Feels like its missing CONSTANTLY..almost like a loose rocker arm(but they're fine, checked)

ANyways, looked for arching tonight, and EVERY spark plug was arching right at the plug. Looks like its coming from where it screws into the engine block I guess. Hard to tell ofcourse when its dark..but it was for sure all 8 of them(I could see six from top, but im assuming other two were)

I think I also saw some arching from the opti region. Would this for sure prolly mean opti is farked up? ANyone ever heard of this?

Thanks for any help, hopefully im getting close to figureing this out. Also the scanmaster shows everythings fine(including vacuum and block leans)

The first thing I would check is the wires. Are you sure the boots are on them all the way? You might need a better set.

Well I did plugs and wires like 3 months ago. Since then I changed the opti. It was fine, and then a coolant line leaked some coolant on the opti. So I fixed the coolant line. Then a day later all the sudden it started running like this. So im pretty sure the boots didnt just all loosen up over night. Also Ive removed one plug, inspected it, and then put it back on tight..so I know that was on there good and was still arching.
Im guessing its opti, just making sure the opti would make all the plugs arch like that. I just kinda thought that was weird.

I had this same problem a few months ago, car was incredibly rough at all times and arcing everywhere under the hood including from the opti. It turned out that I had some plug wires that were almost burnt in 2 from touching my headers. Like someone else said, I would check all the wires first.

doesnt matter what the opti is doin, it wont make the spark jump through the wires/plugs like that. its either the wires or the plugs. or both. once a spark travels down a path from the boot to the block, it will leave carbon tracks down the outside of the plug. if this has happened, you'll need to replace the plug. if they are normal plugs, Id replace them all while you replace the wires. (again) at least make sure to insp. the plugs on the outside for carbon tracking. it will look like a black line that wont rub off. good luck

Cool

Sounds like the plugs are trying to find a ground. Are they split fires? They have no ribs in the plug,so the spark travels up and out. Also, might remove the heat shields.as they can arch.Try lots of die-electric grease in the boot, and see if that makes a difference as well. The more ribs ,the less spark travel.Hope this helps.
