Well i have a 1994 z28 and the problem is when i start it up the check engine light comes on and it idles at about 1600 rpm then slowly levels off to 1000rpm. The other thing its doing that is really making me mad is it will only rap to 5000 rpm when i stomp on it or rev it up it cuts out,but if i rev it really slow it will rap clear to 6000rpm and hit the rev limiter. I was thinking maybe the throttle positioning sensor but idk Well if someone could help me out i would really appreciate it

 

Scan it. That will tell you why the SES light is coming on..... probably related to the problem. If you want to just guess... I'll say MAP sensor.
