quick question, the installed height that I see for the 1218 springs are 1.8in
I am alittle over, at about 1.85

I am assuming the 1.8 is the tallest, but 1.77-1.80 is fine......right?
Thats what I have seen around.......also, does it matter what shims I get?

Only way to tell about the lifters is if your oil had metal in it, then the lifters do, if it doesn't the lifters aren't going too. If you spun a bearing the lifters might be junk so it's time to replace them.

My 396 spun #4 main. Pieces of bearing material are laying in the lifter valley.
I was hoping to salvage the cam/lifters/tc/rods/heads, buy a new set of pistons and build a stock crank 355 with a fresh block. It would suck to loose another $300+ if I can't re-use a set of Morel lifters.
Can they be disassembled and cleaned?
