Engine Stand

Where Can You Buy A Engine Stand That Will Work With The LT1 Engine Block. I Bought The 2 Ton Engine Stand At Harbor Fright And It Want Bolt To The Block Like It Should. And While I Was In There Was Another Guy Said He Had The Same Problem With The One He Bought.

Re: Engine Stand

I have the "harbor freight" engine stand and my LT1 bolts to it fine. Has several times.

The "ears" of the stand are adjustable

Re: Engine Stand

It's basically the same as any SBC, so the stand should handle it without issue.

Re: Engine Stand

The one you have is it a 2 ton from harbor freight. the one I got is nothing like the display one on the floor mine is a lot larger. 3 of the ears line up just fine. The old motor stand I sold 5 or 6 years ago when I thought I would never build another motor I never had a problem with it on blocks. I turned 61 in may and have a bad back getting to old for this. Thanks

Don't think I've ever heard of a 2 ton engine stand. Do you possibly mean 2,000 lb.?

Re: Engine Stand

One of the reviewers reported that the one he had shipped to him did not look like or perform as well as the demo on the storeroom floor.

Re: Engine Stand

that stand should work just fine. just have the right positioning of the arms. with the block upside down align the arms in the straight slots with the bottom of the block. the arms in the slanted slots should be able to bolt up to the top of the block.
