Engine Shuts Off

I have a 1997 Z28 that runs fine for about 10 min. then shuts off and will not start until it cools. The fuel pump is working and I changed fuel filter.I read that the oil pressure switch shuts off fuel, and sometimes when I stop the oil pressure goes to 0 and the check gauges light comes on,could this be my problem?

First step take it to autozone and scan it for error codes. A low resolution distributor fail will shut the car off.

There is no provision on your 97 Z28 to shut down the engine when the oil pressure drops. There is no interlock to the ignition, and the oil pressure sensor does not connect to the computer (PCM).

Oil pressure dropping to "0" on decel is often the sign of the oil pump pickup tube having fallen off. But again, that doesn't shut the engine down.

Did you do a fuel pump at all in your car? i see you said fuel filter but what about the pump? if the vent tube is pintched it will cause the fuel pump to over heat and shut off
