Engine running real rough

Alright here's the deal:
Car runs real rough almost all the time, extremely noticeable at idle, to the point where it idles to low, and also when cruising down the road in sixth gear, shifter shakes real bad, and so does the whole car. When setting at a light it shakes the whole car. Hesitates real bad any time I give it gas, has very little power.

I have done a number of things:
Changed plugs
Changed plug wires
Changed coil
Changed distributor cap and rotor
Changed fuel pump

When I changed plugs and plug wires seemed much better however not perfect, but now it's getting bad again.

I don't know what else to do, anybody have any suggestions?

A vacum leak that's a great idea I never thought of that. I'll look for that, know of an easy way to find it? And no I'm not getting an engine light.

What did the plugs look like when you took them off? were they really black?
do you have any header leak(s)?

The plugs looked pretty decent they were just a little wore. I didn't see a leak around the header. However I'll have to look a little closer.

i was just having the same problem with my car and it turned out to be the pvc hose was wasted. threw on a new hose and now its back to normal. pop the hood with the engine running and see if you can hear any hissing sounds. thats what a vacuum leak sounds like, the worse the leak the louder the hiss.a vacum leak will make your car run to rich i believe or was it to lean? anyway i scanned my car and the fuel trim was wayy off. hope this helps ya......

does the shaking clear up as you increase PRMs? if it does then im betting on bad plugs and/or wires. and the fact your wires cleared things up some at first probably means you laid the new set too close to your headers again.
