engine running like trash any ideas? (bit long)

my z has been outta commision for almost a month now for various reasons
i installled my pacesetter LT's and ory pipe then that night i blew my rear end out two weeks later i get that all taken care of with my 4.11's and a new posi but now my car is running horrible when i first started runnin it after the gears it ran and sounded great
but last night when i was driving it was missing like normal because of a burnt plug wire or two but then it started getting worse and worse to the point where i would step on the gas about 1/4 the way and you could hear the engine struggle bad and then maybe ten secs later it would pop a little then rev up qwick and the tires would break loose (icy roads) then it got even worse and i was in the middle of doing the acceleration thing and then it pops a bit loader the SES light came on and then it started running better still missing from the wires but not falling flat on its face
i also think that i have a slight exhaust leak so factor that in
i was thinking that a combo of the bad spark plugs and wires plus the exhaust leak plus bad o2's from the header coating could cause this
so whadda ya think?

Well I had a similar problem with my car. So I got a tuneup done and changed a bad injector and went away. From my opinion it might me the bad wires and in need of a tune up. My car would struggle in the 2000-3000 rpms and then it went away when in plugs and wires were put in. Similar could be said about yours too but I really don't know. Just telling you what I learned from my experience. Good luck

My '94Z had about 145k miles on it when it started running like ****. Turned out that one of the screws that hold the rotor onto the ditributor had come loose and fallen out, and the other wasn't too far behind it. Good Luck.

I had similar problems with my car. It would stumble and miss then the ses light would come on and it would run 95% better, there still was a slight miss (SLIGHT!) It turned out that my 02's were bad. So Id change them first.

hey thanks for the replies
since i just put my headers on (coated) i figured that my o2's would prolly be trashed soon cause of the coating cloging them or whatever
but then the LT's also burned the wires but ive got some otvc wires in the mail and im gonna order o2's very soon
but thanks again
