engine modifications

i'm currently having my 94 LT1 rebuilt. the cylinder heads are being ported by elliot portworks with the LE2 cam package. the engine is being bored .030 over. i purchased a certerforce dual friction clutch. my question is will my manual 6-speed gear box hold up with no modification, as well as the rear diff. (3:42 ratio) with the proposed hp of 450 at the rear wheels. any suggestions would be much appreciated....thanks!

Re: engine modifications

First off, with ported stock castings, I doubt that you will see 450rwhp, 400-410rwhp would be a more likely guess. Secondly, if you use sticky tires, the rear end could go at stock power levels. The T-56 will generally hold up pretty well in these cars.

Re: engine modifications

He said he was getting them ported, didn't he? I think I remember seeing that a stock T56 is good for upwards of 400 hp. How lucky you feeling? Maybe posting in the drivetrain section would prove more useful.
