the way i routed this wire was right next to the front driver side wire for the abs i actually tied the wire to the abs wire with wire ties, after i moved it the missing got better, so now i am gonna pull the wire off so i can test it to see if its fried

ok let me try to explain once more. When i get on it everything is fine, like when i go through the gears starting from first. But when i am cruising in 4th or 5th and i give it some gas it starts missing/backfiring some. I checked the wires and the plugs they are all fine. Before i did the changes everything was fine too. The #7 wire had a thread of wire coming out of the boot which was making it arc and not fire at all. Now since i cut that back it is the way it is not. Is there a chance that from that wire being messed up it messed something else up? Sorry if i am being annoying with these questions, im just frustrated and thinking that i should have just left it alone.

Ok, something that worked for me was to get that black wiring loom plastic and sleeve each wire. This added some cushion space between the wire and any metal as well as prevent the wire from chaffing on the steel. It worked good and my misfire went away.

You said you were going to try, but did you change the #8 and #7 to see if the misfire switches sides? I didn't get that answer.

Does it hold up well to the heat?

So far, just as long as it is at least 1/4 from the header... which it should be anyways. Mine are still good and when you peel it back, the wire looks fresh on the outside. Keeps it from getting brittle.
