My fan fuse keeps blowing on my 95 z
the heat for the o2 sensors, reverse lock out solenoid, skip shift, egr, cooling fans, and evap canister are all hooked up to this circuit
The car will not blow the fuse as soon as power is applied to the system, so i dont think it is a wire problem. I can replace the fuse and everything will work fine, reverse lock out, fans ect. However, after running it for a few min, the fuse will blow. (3 to 5 min)
The fan motors are ok, they run when they have power
The skip shift is disabled, not an issue
I removed and tested the lock out solenoid, its in good shape
I am suspicious of the evap canister or the egr valve. My question is how often do these solenoids activate?
If there is a short in the wires, wouldn't it short out immediately after installing a new fuse?

EGR doesn't run at idle, so the solenoid won't try to actuate until the car is moving, and you hit certain combinations of RPM and MAP. Then the PCM "pulse width modulates" the solenoid by pulsing it. I know the EEC solenoid is similar, but I'm just not positive that it never operates at idle.
But, both the EGR and EEC solenoids have the +12V connected directly to the solenoid. The PCM provides the ground to actuate them. That would pretty much rule out a short in the wiring that doesn't show up as a blown fuse for several minutes. On the other hand, it might indicate excessive current draw due to a shorted solenoid.

The fuse has not blown while at idle, im sorry, i should have been more clear.
Everything will function normally at idle. However, after driving to the end of my street and stopping for the traffic light (about 3 min of driving) i notice the reverse lock out is not working agian, which means the fuse has blown. I guess that would support my suspisions of the egr or eec systems.
