engine bogs down

engine bogs down
this has happened ever since i bought the car but it only happens sometimes, when i get on it if i start going past 48k rpm the engine will bog down and it only happens sometimes, others it will seem like it wants to go forever past 5k without a problem
anyone have any idea whats up? spark plugs and wires maybe?? thanks
