engine bay cleaning
not so much concerned about the engine but my fender wells inside the engine bay are gross. alot of grease and grime. what's the best solution to clean it up without hosing it down for fear of the opti? what chemicals can clean it up without messing the paint up? anyone got an tricks they used?

aww just wash it with a hose. ive sprayed my car off tons of times and ive even got the unvented opti. just dont spray the radiator shroud or top or front of the engine. i always wipe it down afterwards and let it airdry an hour or so before driving.

I use this stuff called Engine Brite. Works wonders. It comes out in a thin stream so it's easy to aim it where you want it without getting too much overspray on your electronics. After three saturations with the stuff, 90% of the dirt and grime in my engine bay had literally just dripped to the ground. All that was left was stuff down in nooks and crannies which wiped up easily enough. The best part is that this stuff was formulated to look sort've like Armor All: left the whole engine bay with a shiny "wet" look. Highly recommended.
