hey everyone i have a 95 z28 that the previous owner had gotten rid of the emissions and put the metal plates on...the car detonates likes crazy and i bought an actron 9145 and the scan codes are 27 and 29, both dealing with egr and airpump? my question is was the emission delete done wrong? do i need to reflash the computer to delete emissions?....thanks for the help

 

Yes you definitely need to get the PCM reprogrammed to tune those out.

On the 93-95 OBD-I cars, you can prevent DTC 27 (EGR solenoid) by sticking a 2,000 ohm resistor into the pins of the harness connector for the solenoid. As long as there is a good fuse and a good relay in the circuit for the AIR pump, you should not get DTC 29.
