Electrical problem? HELP!

I replaced the opti, plugs, wires, and put longtubes on on my car about 3 months ago. After the install, everything ran very strong and all was well. I dont drive the car very often for fear that something else might break or go bad, it happens so often, but even that didnt help. A couple weeks ago i noticed the car while idleing at a light or something the rpms would slowly drop and keep droping until the car dies. Then on a cold start, the car would start good, idle decent, but as soon as i go into drive or reverse, it dies. Another symptom i have is after the car warms the car will die while driving and immediatly come back to life, the longer i drive it, the more this happens. I am at a loss, its always something and i am fed up with this car. It does throw a code after it dies and comes back while driving, but the code goes away until the car dies again. I had the computer scanned and the guy said that the computer was responding and the scanner was just saying that it was ready. The guy said i had a bad ground because the computer was responding and maybe that was my problem. Any suggestions?

Check all the connections and routing AGAIN...even if you've already done so.

Don't guess.... get it scanned by someone who knows what he is doing.

What year is your car? That will determine what tool/method is required to read the trouble codes. Sounds like you may have a 95, and he scanned it with an OBD-II scanner.

Helpful Hint: Add a "signature" with the basic info about your car.... year, model, tranny type and any major mods. That way people will be able to respond more accurately to your tech questions.

Re: Electrical problem? HELP!

Its a 94, OBDI, I looked at the scanner and it said for OBDI and OBDII. Ill check connections again, and tryed to have it scanned somewhere else. Is their even a problem that you can have with a car that will not allow the computer to be scanned?
