Question EGR Help. What can I do?

Ok, I have been having a service code display that the EGR Valve is bad, code 32 or something like that. What i need to know is what is all of this talk about deleting the EGR valve?
What does this accomplish? Also will i still be displaying a service code if i delete it?

Thanks

Well, you can choose to delete the EGR valve and its ancillary components. This gets rid of a few pounds off your car, and gets rid of a system that you really don't need. Simply unbolt the EGR valve, tube, and solenoid and discard. You'll need blockoff plates (use SJM Manufacturing) to cover the holes in the intake manifold and exhaust header/manifold. I'm not 100% sure about OBD I cars, but on OBD II you'll set a code. I chose to eliminate the codes through LT1 Edit.

If you're not into modding your car, you can simply replace the EGR valve. There was a recall on them, I think older LT1 versions tending to carbon up easily.

The best thing to do is to replace the EGR valve.
