Effects of cracked intake elbow??????

What are some bad effects of a cracked intake elbow?

you are letting unfiltered and unmetered air into the intake. If you want to replace it again in a year or 2, get the 1LE. if not, then get the vortech or trick flow. I have the vortech, and have had no problems with it. the only drawbacks are you need to tap a hole for it if you have a vented opti, and threda the IAT also.

Dirt entering your intake is one. False readings from your IAT and MAF are a couple more. You would get a different air flow other than what the MAF is sending because the leak is past it. So it might make your car run lean. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)Duct tape might be a good temporary fix but you should replace it as soon as possible. Good reason to get a 1LE elbow.

anymore input like this would be greately appreaciated guys thanx, when I drive my car I can't think of anything else, I'm afraid of giving it gas cuz that hickup is so annoying crying here while typing at work

if its cracked somewhere where it doest connect to the tb, then just ductape it until you get it taken care of

Cool

Mine ripped and I've duct taped it until new one arrives. Car drives fine. Was gonna go with another oversized rubber neck piece and clamp it in; but, duct tape did the trick.
