Edelbrock Package

Wouldn't this package be compatible with an LT1???

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...9&autoview=sku

In the edelbrock catalog is said something about the heads being an upgrade for an LT1...so i'm assuming it is compatible. It also said that the cams and lifters are the same along with the throttle body . The only thing it says that's different is the valve springs and the intake which is pretty much identical. The only difference is says is that the valve sizes are slightly larger on the LT4 intake which is expected.

It also said to get valve springs but wouldn't they already be on the heads since it says "complete."

And another thing..is there a company that makes an exhaust system for a 93-95 that has two pipes that go down each side of the car and not just one on the right side of the car???

Sorry to break the news but the Edelbrock package is quite sad, even magazine testing which is usually quite generous to advertizers has found losses on the dyno for the intake when compared to stock. The whole kit only makes just under 400 flywheel for the LT1 and just over 400 flywheel for the LT1 and these days a good heads and cam kit utilizing the stock heads just ported will make those numbers at the wheels for less money.

Do a search her and on LS1tech.com in the LT1 sections and you will find the details.

Far as the exhaust, look for threads on "true duals".

At the bottom of the page you linked, there's a "Check to make sure this part fits your application" link. When you click it, you get:

Make CHEVROLET
Engine Type V8
Engine Size 5.7L/350
Liter 5.7
CID 350

Engine Family Chevy small block Gen II (LT-based engines)

Beginning Year 1992
Ending Year 1997
Camshaft Style Hydraulic roller tappet
Can't get much clearer than that.

That kit is definitely not worth almost $3,000. There are much better options out there.

Not really "Advanced Tech"..... moving to "LT1 Based Engine Tech".
