The MAC's come with the Y-pipe for that price. With LT's, you might get the headers for around $520, but then you also need to get the Y-pipe, which is NOT cheap.
They y pipe isn't that expensive. I got a hooker ypipe coated for $228 from Jet hot. Great people to work with! Ask for Chris.

I installed FLP LTs all by myself....TWICE. No jacking of the engine required for me anyways. Comes with a y-pipe. Good ground clearance. But I think it's out of your price range.

shorties naturally because there smaller and easier to fit. Guy who installed mine on my 97 said it was still a nightmare.

So where is everyone getting the MAC headers and everything else from, except the SLP, that kind of self-explanatory.

so would MAC's and Y-pipe hook up to the rest of the exhaust in the stock location? The reason I ask is because I Would want it to work with my eahaust I already have?

Well, you have a '96 and the better MAC headers are made for the '94-'95 vehicles. What you will need is a CAT and a S-pipe to go from the back of the cat to the cat-back exhaust.

It goes like this:
Headers => Y-pipe => CAT (or ORP) => S-pipe => current cat-back exhaust

I also am in your situation, but I'm buying the '94-'95 style Hooker Cat-Back exhaust as well so I wont need the S-pipe, but I'll still need the CAT.

Shorty headers are NOT a nightmare to install, the hard part is getting the old crap off, and that's not even that hard, just takes time. But it can be difficult esp if you haven't done it before. The easiest LTs to install from my experience are the TPiS LTs. But they are $1000+ headers. The jet Hots were much more difficult to install compared to the more expensive ones. I have Jet Hots, and once they are in, it is very nice, but for install w/ LTs, TPiS are the easiest I've seen. I've installed all types.
