early timing chain conversion to later style

early timing chain conversion to later style

i have a 94 and want to run a double roller. and need to know what all i need to convert.

items i will need
later style timing cover, and a little grinding
later opti
electric wp

what else? do i need to change pins on the cam? if so can i just change the pin with out having to get a new cam?

that it?

The 95-97 cam has a larger pilot hole in the end of the cam to support the 95-97 vented Opti shaft:

You'll also need a 95-97 opti wire harness and vaccuum harness.

wow, thanks man, those are some awesome pics! U R THA MAN! do you think i could drill out the cam gear, and cam for the cam gear to fit into, and get a longer pin? man i dont wanna change my cam!!!!!

is the plug on the harness itself different on the 95-97 than the 93-94? the msd opti had the harness and vacuum lines with it.

Yes.

If you are running an aftermarket camshaft it will have the bigger hole, you'll just need to change the dowel pin.
