The main differences between 93 & 94+ are:
93 A4's have a 700R4 (non-electric shift); the 94+ have the 4L60E
93 M6's have 2 different trannsmissions, M28, M29; both with different gearing than the 94+ M6
93's use speed density to measure air flow; 94+ use a MAF air flow sensor
93's use a chip to reprogram; 94+ use either OBDI or OBDII which can be reprogramed easier

There are many, many more little differences (ie. different color door/window switched), but nothing major.

Look at the RPO sheet. It will say either M28 or M29.

I'm going to guess 14.4 @96 mph

My first time to the track in 86 degree weather with 80% humidity I ran 14.4@98 with a 2.2 60' time. All I had was a CAI. Full weight. M6

Good numbers. My 1994 Z-28 when it had only a few bolt ons hit 298 RWHP with RK Sport headers, Borla cat back, no cat. converter and CAI. Ran a 13.01@109 on bald street tires.

I ran the following time with a K&N CAI, gutted cat, flowbastard muffler, Hypertech powercoil, B&M ripper, and 17X9 SZ50 tires on chrome WS6 rims.

13.632@102.32 on a 2.14 60' time. If the weather is condusive to racing, you should see 13's no problem.

I took my 93 Z to the track last summer with only a K&N filter and no mods whatsoever w/ 273 gear and ran a 13.51 @ 101mph . It's all in the driving fellas. I hooked and hit a 1.9 60ft to.

I do believe that 93's came with Pink rods instead of powdered metal.

Under no circumstance did GM put forged rods into a production LT1 in the F-Body. Least not that I've ever heard of.

I wonder whats wrong with my car, 93 A4 Moroso CAI, Holley 52mm TB, 24#ers, HotCam kit, Jet Hot LT's, Hooker catback, PCMFORLESS. Thats the major stuff. I only did 300.1 RWHP, and 293 corrected. A/F was right on also.

This is alot of 93's also. Please stop by the speed density site and say hi. www.speeddensity.org

I quote directly from Mike Mavrigians Rebuild of Lt1/ Lt4 Engines.
The 92 and 93 LT-1 featured forged rods that were shot peened at the rod bolt head and nut area for increased hardness. In 94, some LT-1 engines began to feature PM rods, with with PMs supposedly used in all LT-1 and LT-4 engines after that, but Ive seen some 96 LT-1 engines with forged rods.

Is he wrong? What are your sources?
