hey dmoss, i noticed that our setups are fairly close. i dont have tuner cat, isnt it just software and a cable. if i pick it up id be more than happy to borrow your data . the fan they used on the dynojet was pretty crappy, so i bet that had something to do with it. im not all that worried about the hp, its the torque. are torque lines suppose to be choppy? the powerband with this cam is somewhere between 1800-5800 rpm, the car on the street feels like it pulls harder than 336 rw torque. in the 1/8th i had 6mph pulls on a ls1 ss, i guess ill get a new y-pipe and get another tune, hopefully ill be in the 360ish range. its just kind of a let down, hell maybe the dyno was jacked up.

i Live in springfield, IL and if i can suggest go to FC customs. it is also in Springfield. Dont get me wrong the HP factory is good and i know a few of the guys that own the place and are real top notch guys and know there stuff when it comes to f bodies and such.

But ill just say one thing. Last wednesday FC customs did a dyno tune and gained 124 HP to the rear wheels on a supercharger Z06.

WORAK....If you can find a spare PCM for a Z28 and ship it to me, I'll load it up for you.

If you can find someone with tunercat, I'll send you my file.

ERIK 85....125 hp gain on supercharged z06---supercharged engines respond differently than n/a engines, so where we pick up on 25 30 or 40hp, supercharged engines will pick up alot more horses with the same changes. (you may already know this, I just didn't want someone to take their n/a car there and expect 100+ hp added to their ride)

If there is anything I can do to help, let me know!

D Moss

That sounds about right to be trapping around 109 with 335 hp. If you are hooking up and geared right then I would say 12.3-4's would be your ET.

Considering that I know people making 350rw on a tiny hot cam and boltons I would sure as hell hope it would make alot more power. i woul dthink in the range of 360-370 with boltons and p&p heads.

I only trapped 87 in the 1/8 on my 12.8 @ 111 pass, so you're definitely making good power. Who cares what the dyno says. Would you rather have a car that dynos low and performs well or one that dynos high and runs like ****? People put way too much stock in dyno numbers. Use the dyno as a tuning device, not to get numbers to impress people on the internet.

WORAK.....

I saw in your sig that your best time was 8.8

That was the same time that haunted me for a long time. I hated a daymn 8.8 The only way I broke 8.8 was I bought some BF Goodwrench Drag Radials, and went to 8.5

Then with a little more fine tuning on the PCM, I finally got down to 8.3

Thats when the crank broke

All of this was with a slipping ram clutch also. Around 1500 to 2000 rpm clutch dumps, nothing more.

D Moss

Good luck on the 8.8 hump!

DMOSS,

Can you send your bin over to me also please. I would like to compare it to the one I am using now. I am pretty happy with mine but always like to see how close it is to others with similiar setups.

Thanks
Jeff

i just put some bfgs on last week, no runs on them yet. that 8.8 was spinning through 3rd. nothin like counter-steering down the track. i was getting beat by everything, a wrx, 5.0, a trans am. i could get any traction.

moss if i sent the pcm out how long before i got it back?

As long as nothing goes wrong, as soon as I get it, I can program it and send it back the same day. If tunercat freezes (which is possible, but not likely), I'll have to order a PCM from advance for $100, it'll take a day to get here, then I'll program that one and walla, It'll be on the way.

I'd just hate for you to go through all that trouble shipping your PCM to me and be down for a couple days.

I'm sure if you do a search on here, someone close to you has tunercat, and I can send you the file, you take it to them, and you won't have any down time.

It's not that I won't do it for you, it's just trying to save you some downtime.

Thanks for the file David. I was uploading it and I didn't have the power supply plugged into the back of the laptop and guess what happened?

Anyway, I am going to socket the PCM so it only cost me $30 to get new chips if it happens again. What a bummer day.

Poorman,

I've been there, I can feel your pain!

There's nothing like flashing your PCM then the the little box comes up saying something to the effect of "you just screwed up your PCM".

tunercat tricks, I pull every relay to fans 1,2,&3, put a battery charger on the car, and make sure the power is plugged in to your laptop. Also, make daymn sure that every connection is connected good on your cable going to the dash!

I have a buddy with an older laptop (my first one) in good condition with tunercat downloaded in it, he wants $200 for it.
It has a pentium 1 processor, and I forgot what else. I used to have a post on here about it if you want to search for it in the used parts for sale.
