Dumb electrical systems in LT1's

ok well the other night my driver side switch light was working and the passenger wasnt!! so i was like ok, ill take the light out of my other car since it worked b4..well cut the wires put them together pluged it in, then the passenger started working right as the driver side went out!! so i was like WTF!!
well went back to my other car did the same thing on the driver side, and taped it and plugged it back in, then BOTH of them stopped working!! what is the deal here?
i know camaros always had problems with Electrical systems! but not this bad!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...
i would apreciate feedback at least on this topic, cause no one ever wants to respond to mine for some odd reason!!
thanks

You need to use a test light or meter and some basic troubleshooting to locate your problem. I am not aware of "camaros always had problems with electrical systems".

i think you need a mechanic. our cars dont have bad electrical systems, just bad mechanics maybe. it sounds like something very easy over there.

Cool

Sometimes you need to post a couple of times, because there are soo many posts, sometimes they get missed,or nobody has an answer. Was your car ever in an accident? Then maybe you might have a grounding problem. You really need to have a qualified electrican go through you car's system to track this one down.Been there, many times.My02

Check along the harness for any cuts or shorts, but check ALL the fuses in the fuse block. I just surprised myself recently at how the fuses in there affect goofy unrelated systems elsewhere in the car.

Check fuses... and BTW, the electrical system is not inherently dumb. You transferred your dumbness to it. I had to say it, sorry. When you start cutting wires you need to use a probe to see where you are getting power and where you aren't, then trace the wiring and see where it's broken off - probably at the fuse. The electrical system is designed to do what it does and nothing more. For example, the size and length of each wire is carefully calculated for proper resistance and current so it will do what it's meant to do and nothing more. If you connect something wrong it will render the wiring inadequate and will cause problems.

i agree with WS6. be sure to test everything before making any cuts. also, there may be differences in parts you're swapping, like different relays, resistors, or capacitors.
