OK i think this is happening AGAIN!!!

ok well got my new silver Z with 93k miles on it!!
well went to work this morning and went to stop at a redlight and started to give it gas and the car jsut DIED!! then got it back fire up again took off slow then tried to give it half throttle to see soemthing and it was what i expected, started to BOG really bad like it was getting enough fuel or something!! well after work jsut like 10 min ago the car ran fine till after 6 miles, then it died at another redlight and this time it was knocking really hard when i tried to give it a lil bit of gas, if im easy on it it drives fine but after that it jsut bogs!!
could this be the OPTI, if so then i have my new one on ym old wrecked car im going to change out!!
or could this be a clogged fuel filter? or a fuel pump?
please let me know ASAP
thanks
randy

I would check to see how much fuel pressure you are getting.

OK we checked his fuel pressue and its fine.. The idle is smooth he says and there is a loud pop noise when he presses the gas and then it dies.. He said it drives normal if you drive like grand ma.. I really am stumped.. I was thinking head gasket because he said some noticable white smoke(possibly evap coolant) hissed out of the moroso/MAF connection and down back by the 8th cylinder plug wire and valve cover(passenger side for who doesnt know where the 8th cylinder is).. Come on guys we need help here. He also checked the oil and said it was fine.. Coolant cap was too hott to take off.. I do believe he has the faulty low coolant light problem so you cant really tell if its low without taking the cap off...

I doubt it's a head gasket. A blown head gasket is usually the result of the car overheating and warping the gasket/ head seal. The car will run like absolute crap and the oil will soon look like a milkshake from the oil/ coolant mixing in the crankcase. (Unfortunatly I know this all from experience on a "beater car" I owned ).

Check the coolant lines going into the throttle body. Is there a leak there that's causing a backsurge into the CAI. If coolant got the MAF sensor wet, the car will run like s#$t from that as well.

You stated the car runs smooth at idle and that the fuel pressure is good. I would also look at the ignition system. Possibly an opti... the car does have 93K miles on it. Visually check the wires and pull a spark plug or two and inspect those as well. Also make sure all the plugs are tight.

Good luck.

Did you check the fuel pressure under load ?....Really sounds like it might be the fuel filter.....change it....cheap and easy.

I dont think its the timing chain.. If the timing is off the timing is off... Its not going to just happen at WOT.. Actually it could jump a tooth everytime you slam the gas.. or be really loose..

ok....so far i have changed my TBS sensor, changed my fuel filter, checked my fuel pressure, and cleaned my maf sensor very carefully!! and now when i drive the car and when i come to a light it starts to hesitate really bad wanting to die, shaking real bad...another thing i think it may be is the CAT CONVERTER, it could be clogged. Im going to go cut that off tomorrow after work to see if that is the problem if not there is one more suggestion it could be, is a blown head gasket!!!
also b4 it use to idle fine but now it idles like crap!! and when i give it like 500 rpms it smooths out and runs fine!!
please HELP!!
