DTC 48 - MAF problem

Code 48 came up yesterday when I was scanning my car with free scan. I have driven the car two short times after I cleared the code and it hasn't came back yet.

Basically I'm wondering about code 48. Can it be the wires and connector leading to the MAF or is it the actual maf screwing up?

Also do codes sometimes pop up for no apparent reason or am I going to see this code 48 again soon?

Thanks

Could be a wiring harness, connector or sensor problem. Some people have run into problems with the wire that supplies +12V power from the fuse panel. The wires break somewhere in the system, and need to be replaced.

Codes in general do not "set" for no reason. If it said DTC 48, its likely there was a glitsch of some sort in the circuit. Just keep an eye on it. Might be worth checking the connector for bent pins, tightness. Check the wires for +12V (I think its the pink one???? - ).
