Question Double check rocker arm install

Before I start the motor I wanted to see that I did this correctly. Please let me know if I missed or did anything wrong here. I've only done this once before so the double check would be awesome!

I just installed 1.6:1 full rocker rollers on my LT1 w/ cc306 cam and cc987 springs. The rockers came with 7/16" studs and guide plates.

Here's what I did...

1: placed the harmonic balancer in the 12 oclock position and made sure both number one cylinder's valves were closed.
2: Removed all the old hardware; rocker arms & studs
3: Installed all the guide plates & new studs
4: For each guide plate I placed a rocker arm on the stud and just ensured that it wasn't in a really funky alignment. How do I double check the alignment? Is it an issue here?
5: Tigtened all studs to 50 ft lbs
6: Installed rocker arms on exhaust cylinders 1,3,4,8
7: Installed rocker arms on intake cylinders 1,2,5,7
-- All arms 1/2 turn past zero lash
8: turned harmonic balancer one full turn clockwise back to 12 oclock position again.
9: Installed rocker arms on exhaust cylinders 2,5,6,7
10: Installed rocker arms on intake cylinders 3,4,6,8
-- All arms 1/2 turn past zero lash

Does this sound about right? Did I miss anything?

Thanks!!!!

What lifters are you using? 1/2 turn is a little more than I like to go. With comp r's, I normally go 1/16th-1/8th of a turn past zero lash but the stock lifters need to go a little further than that.

I did some further looking. The ones I bought came with poly locks so I went at zero lash, no extra turning.

Is that correct? I saw several posts that did that w/ the poly locks.

You're going to have a noisey valve train with zero lash, especially if you're using stock lifters. When adjusting RR's on cams other than stock, I prefer to rotate the crank to set each RR to ensure I'm on the base circle of the cam. See Shoebox's site for adjustment instructions.

I have Crane gold 1.6rr's and i keep them at 1/4 turn past zero lash with the poly locks. i can tell that my motor has roller rockers, but I wouldnt call it noisy at that setting.
