I bought a plug from Thunder Racing made for this. It's 3D CNC machined to match the curveture of the elbow. Then I bought a Trick Flow elbow & now the plug is for sale.

How much do them plugs go for? I imagine about 1/3 the price of a new elbow...

Don't you mean Helmholtz? It's really not a true Helmholtz resonator though. It's closer to a quarter-wave tuner. It's function is to tune at a very specific frequency range. It attenuates the noise in that range. Whether you hear the difference or not depends on how attuned your ear is to acoustic periods. Chances are if you have modified your exhaust, you won't notice the difference.
