Does Tunercat show trouble codes?

I did a scan on my car w/ it, but can't find anywhere on the program where it shows my trouble codes.. not sure if I did it wrong or what.

Thanks,
Jason

Re: Does Tunercat show trouble codes?

Tunercat is a programmer, not a scan tool. No trouble codes.

Re: Does Tunercat show trouble codes?

Just for reference. Tuner cat has not developed a realtime program for the LT1 yet (meaning it cannot read the active or volatile memory). Or at least since last time I checked. It only reads and writes to the NVRAM (I'm a cisco man so that is the only way I can describe it) NVRAM being memory that is "hard written" therefore does not get erased when powered down. All trouble codes are stored in VRAM (Volatile memory) which is erased each time you power down (Pull the battery cable) That is why you can reset trouble codes by pulling power.

I believe (though am not familiar with) that Tunercat has developed realtime tuning for other types of vehicles. Which when implemented for our cars. Will be totally BAD ****.

What can I use to scan the car? I guess Freescan doesn't work on OBD2 cars. I'd like something I can download onto the lap top so I can scan it tonight or tomorrow.

1995 is not OBD2, i believe. I believe that you have an OBD2 connector but an OBD1 PCM. They make adapters. And Freescan (be this the situation) will work just fine.

TTS datamaster gives 15 free runs. And it is the WHIP. I personally bought it because I liked it so much.

Well, he's just going for a trouble code scanner and that's kind of overkill.

The one thing I really like about Datamaster is that you can reset the PCM and take it on a drive and actually see at what point the code kicks in. Makes it extremely easy to figure out the problem.

If he has Tunercat, he is going to want something like TTS Datamaster to monitor the car and make logs. That's how you tell how your custom tuning is doing.
