Flush the heater core and check the flow valve, it's between the 3/4 metal pipe and WP, black plasti, about two inches long.

Well My heater works great, Heats up VERY WELL when the engine is warm. I drive top down out here in Vancouver in the middle of the winter with the heat blasting, comfy in the city, doable for short highway runs too=)

could someone explain in good detail what all is involved in flushing out the heater core?? where the hoses are (passenger side of engine comp???).....

thanks, I'm thinking this is what i'm going to do, since my heater doesn't work well, even at good engine temps. AC works great.....but not much heat.

btw, i run a 180* thermo w/ hypertech fan switch mod...

160 thermo and I get decent heat, not blasting melt your face or antything but if I am driving for about 5 - 10 minutes (25 - 30 degrees outside)good heat, I eventually have to turn it down to keep it comfy.

Who ever is going to flush their heater core, remember the otpi and remeber to bleed air.

with my 160 thremo and fans programmed at 170 I was getting no heat, it was barely warm on the lowest setting, I was freezing the entire one hour drive everyday. I went through and flushed the core and filled up on coolant(I was low) and ever since I have heat like crazy, with it on low it gets to hot where I have to turn it off, and I have a convertible, this is in 8-15 degree weather, so you should flush and really go over your system.

yeah my heat sucks, but its not because the air blowing out isnt hot. its because the retard that owned my truck before me installed an aftermarket radio without using a dash kit that is needed to pull the deck away from the ac/heat ducting behind the radio. so the way he made it fit was to cut a hole in it so that the radio fit halfway in the ducting. so now every time i turn on the heat, the air just blows right into the back of the radio i installed, instead of out of the vents like it should
of course this is in my truck and not an f body
