You have to do the splice on the PCM side wire... Don't cut the wires between the connector and the O2 Sensor.

starter off and alternator off

As far as the O2 wire. i cut some of the sheathing that kinda holds it with the other wires and then pulled some of the extra wire out so i could plug it in, then used electrial tape and put it around the sheathing (sp?) and was good to go

I extended the O2s themselves because I could not see a logical reason to hack up the harness itself, much easier to buy new O2s if it don,t work.
No problems so far, just take some time and do it right making sure your splices are good and wrap the whole shibang in convoluted tubing and it should be good.

i 've heard bad things about splicing into the wires on the sensor. I just bought some extenders they're pretty cheap.

i thought one of the O2 wires was air filled or something so it can always have an accurate reading to judge off of? cutting and splicing into it will ruin the ability to monitor properly, lol i'm sure someone can explain that better then me
just spend the $40 and get some extensions

i think you will just need the pass. side extension my driver side reached. as for installing it, pull out the motor mount bolt and raise the engine a good inch or more, slide the header up from the bottom the collector should be where the starter was and with the engine up it will fit between the block and the frame into place. i took me two days to figure that out, it wasnt fun. and the car does have to be jacked up a bit to help the angle.

get that car as high as you can with blocks of wood or ramps/stands...whatever you have. The next part sounds bad but its real simple....

On the k-member (or cradle) there are 6 bolts that hold it in place, 3 on each side. Loosen the drivers side ones and completely remove the passenger side ones. Jam a big old crowbar and pry the passenger side of the cradle down, if you do all this and the starter is off, and you still cant get it in from the bottom...your out of luck. I wouln't even attempt to do it from the top.

edit: you need to have the pasenger side motor mount bolt out too, then jack up the engine as far as it will go (to the cowl, just dont force it and break anything.

Jack the motor up as high as you can, remove the alternator and the starter. Before you put the header in, re-route the ABS wheel sensor wiring harnesses, and wrap any wires that are gonna be close to the headers with heat reflective tape.

when we put the headers on my neighbors camaro (96 A4) we had to jack the motor up. The passenger side is a pain in the ****. The effort is worth the reward.

the O2 sensor thing, dont splice them yourself. get the extenders, we tried to splice them ourselfs (soldering and stuff) and it didnt work at all. Just buy the extenders and save money on tylenol.
