Re: Disapointed

Do the math, then tell me im wrong! Just put donuts on your car then, if you can go with 12s. From an engineering standpoint it makes a difference whether you believe me or not. This is a moot point. -foz

Re: Disapointed

1 + 1 = 2.............now that thats done....YOU'RE WRONG. Its not going to affect his or anyone else's 1/4 mile times enough to cause a .3 to .4 difference. Maybe the people who tested this drove worse, different conditions, etc...in other words it is not the reason for this guy running a 14.4 or whatever.

Nobody said anything about bigger wheels causing a .5 second loss. Learn to comprehend what you read. Fredmr's post regarding wheels having NO affect on 1/4 mile times....he's dead wrong. Why do you think guys with 8-9 second f-bodies ALL run 15 or 16" wheels. No, an 18" wheel won't cause a .5 second loss on a 14 second car (I never said it would), but it does affect 1/4 mile times/trap speeds and dyno pulls...which again, was the point Fredmr was trying to refute. Try to pay attention, you might learn something.

I do agree that it will affect times some, but some dude was saying that it would cause .3 - .4 difference.

Re: Disapointed

My bone stock times where in the area of 14.6-14.7

Muffler got me a little lower.

Muffler, not cats, cai, 4.10's got me to a 14.016 I was trapping 102 consistently so I know I had enought to break the barrier.

I am hoping to finally break 13s considering the longtubes and cc306

Did nobody else catch this??? An auto does not hurt at the track. Any serious drag racer will want an auto over a manual any day. Near stock, a 6-speed may do better but that's very driver dependent...and why even call your car "stock everything" when you have intake and exhaust work done, and gears?? Doesn't make much sense.
