I got one at radio shack. works perfectly.. when i build up a new motor i'm just going to use a real one, but i have a 93 so i couldn't use a lt4 knock module, and my solid tranny mount was making a ****load of false knock ....

I'd be surprised if a 4.5ohm or a 4.7ohm resistor worked. The stock 93-95 knock sensor reads 4,400ohms. Readings between 3,300-4,500ohms will satisfy the PCM.

And, if you are getting DTC 43, how do you know it isn't a wiring problem, in which case nothing you stick in the end of the connector is going to cure the problem???

No, but the C-16 in my tank does. I actually have a toggle switch mounted near my PCM that switches between the resistor and the knock sensor... great for visits to the track.
How do you handle the issue of the O2 sensors and their dislike for leaded fuel?

I went through a few sets getting my open loop tune / MAF tables nailed down, but now they just serve as plugs in the exhaust (in fact, I don't think they are even plugged into the PCM harness anymore). The Delco O2 sensor will actually last through several tanks of C-16 before getting lazy - it's not an "instant" death. If the owner of the dynojet allowed me to use the wideband O2 with race gas in my tank, I don't think I would have even installed O2 bungs in my exhaust

Just curious... mine serve the same purpose, but they are still hooked up to the stock PCM, and I monitor them with a ScanMaster. But the engine is dyno tuned/running open loop on a MoTeC. One of the sensors has lasted for 4 years on a steady diet of C16/Air Race blend, but the other one is not putting out much in the way of a voltage signal. Also no knock sensor, with a solid roller cam.

I'm surprised that they wouldn't let you use the wide-band.... they are a bit more tolerant of lead. I know people that run closed loop/WOT with wide-band control.

i have a tune from Ion which helps knock desensitizing b/c i always run 93+ premoium octane but i run a 3" cutout right at my y pipe after MACS and when i run at the track with it open..it is damn loud and it rumbles the interior hard.I possibly could be picking up knock

Wheres the cheapest place i can find a LT4 Knock Module for my 94 obd1 PCM..gmpartsdirect? if so part #. jason cromer? a link

I asked about the WB02, and they were under the impression that it would shorten the replacement time between sensors ... I honestly didn't know how bad leaded gas was on a WB 02 compared to a conventional O2 (and still don't), so wasn't going to argue with them. I use to run a batch/batch Speed Pro w/ a wide band o2, and I can understand their reluctance to 'experiment' with a $600 sensor!

The delco sensors are unpredictable when it comes to leaded gas - I've had one frozen at ~450mv after 2 or 3 tanks, while the other one works fine after almost 2 years (or at least appears to function properly... I probably wouldn't trust it).

Well I'm running open headers and im getting false knock, then I got code 43 and I just decided to do away with it, I'm saving for a rebuild neways
