Difference with 2.66 1st, and the 3.36 1st Borg Warner?

I was looking at the product codes and noticed I have a 2.66 1st, 0.50 6th

But there is another one listed too, its 3.36 1st, 1.35 3rd

What one is better? and why?
I have 3.42 in the rear.

I think my other car might have had the other transmitions as it seemed like I could shift at slower speeds.

the 2.66 trans has a lot higher torque capacity, like 450lbft compared to 350 lbft.

the total effective ratio in the weaker trans will make the car accelerate better in first for a given rear axle ratio. but the closer ratios of the 2.66 trans keep the engine in the powerband better. the 2.66 first gear cars like a lot of gear in the rear end.

the automatic cars have a 3.07 first and a torque converter, thats why they leave so hard.

what do you mean the 2.66 likes alot of gear in the rear end? (besides sounding dirty when sea read it outload?)

to get the desired total effective gear ratio you have to run more gear.
