You have to do the beehives to run the HL cam. One reason I recomend the LE2 heads. Plus the valves will live up to the abuse and the extra porting is also a bonus.

wow, the origional poster seems to have the same idea as me too. I have decided on LE2 heads with a custom grind cam. If i were you (origional poster), i'd just scrap out the extra for the LE2 heads. Might as well build it good the first time and not have to change a bunch of stuff. Also I'm going LE2 since i plan on rebuilding in a year or so.

Guys, BTW the LE2 cam is not a bad choice. It's acutally my favortie choice for stock bottom ends when you want all out power and the best TQ curve. It does like a little more RPM, but it does make the most midrange power. I've worked to get the LE2 cam to lower the HP peak and help out the midrange and it does, that's why it makes 380rwtq on a stock short block.

sstroker, with my mods, would you go with the le1.5 cam or an le2? and i was just wondering, if i did go le2 heads/cam, i guess it wouldn't hurt anything if i did go le2 heads and cam and shifted a few hundred rpm before peak power. how much would this hurt e.t or horsepower totals?
