I know, I should go through and weed out the not-so good ones, as well as revise it a bit, but I am still 'working on other things' at that moment, so it'll have to wait...

From what I understand, only the optical sensors need to be working in your existing opti. So if your existing opti is failing due to the cap or rotor, which is the most likely failure point, you would not need to buy a new opti.
I'm not sure if there is a way to test it to find out if the optical sensors are ok or not...anyone know??

Your mouting plate is so shinny Mine had the center hole in the wrong place. I had to drill it out myself. They said they had it fixed but I must have got a bad one. Said I could get a new one, but never bothered but if they look that nice than man maybe I will.

Actually the mounting plate is not that shiny I bought the billet plate and had it polished then chromed
