delteq and arcing wires
Re: delteq and arcing wires
lowering the voltage going into the coils would lower the output voltage. if the output voltage is lowered some, it shouldnt arc...not sure what the best way to go about lowering the input voltage is though. just a thought.

Re: delteq and arcing wires
well i guess i found my problem...something inside my opti is loose as hell...even tho i have a delteq it still reads off the opti doesnt it? whatever it is is rattling bad. and on top of that i have a rocker loose and it would be on the drivers side lol so now i gotta take all that stuff off and still have to buy an opti
i cant win

Re: delteq and arcing wires
Your opti may be rattling but there is nothing that could go wrong with it that would create an "arcing" problem. Particularly since your high voltage is coming from the Delteq.
If your thinking your low voltage reference signals from the opti where the problem, you would be setting codes. Are any codes present?
If you're using the 'wasted spark" type of coils, I think, not sure but the base the coils plug into can and will go bad often. It seems that because your having backfire issues, your spark timing is off. I would look into the coil packs your using. I'm no expert on DIS so a question or 2 to a mech that works with them all the time can go a long way.
I did ask the question about the coil packs to a friend with a shop and if they are the style that they use on the 4.3's. The module that the coils plug into is definately a problem often.
