I had a thread about MSD optisparks, and I think Im going to stay away.

Ive also heard some issues with the AC Delco remanufactured optisparks (particularly that the mitsubishi optical sensor is not new, but 'reused' on these).

Now, I want to ask about the Delphi optispark 1104032 (the late model type)..or Delphi p/n CZ20003.

Are these any good? Are they typically new or reman? The price of these is certainly very nice.

Do these have the 'mitsubishi emblem' optical sensor?

 

Delphi made the opti for GM under the AC Delco name. They are the one and the same. From what i understand New ones are dicontinued and Delphi and AC Delco are both going to be remanufactured. Buy the Delphi one and hope they dont cheapen out on any of there parts. I have been and still will in the future.

 

All the guys around here run the MSD and no one has had any problems yet.

 

Delphi all the way...why pay for MSD when your not gaining anything but a pretty red/black opti and the advance is useless to begin with!

 

Where is "around here"? If you read through the last 8 years of posts regarding the MSD Opti, you will see a sad history of a part constantly being revised to cure known faults.
