Cutting Pro 5.0 stick

Looking at the stick it looks like it is tapered out at the top. For you guys with the Pro 5.0 that cut the stick down are you using your stock **** because if you cut off the tapered top part how did you get it to thread on since it would be too thin?

Stock ball worked fine after cutting my Pro50. Before making the cut I did put a jam nut on below where I made the cut so when I removed the nut it would deburr any damaged threads.

Re: Cutting Pro 5.0 stick

I just cut about 1in off the top of my stick. The 5.0 stick has plenty of thread for the **** to fit even with some cut off.

Re: Cutting Pro 5.0 stick

I've done it 2 ways...

Thread a nut on, take the hacksaw to it, then clean the threads with the pre-installed nut.. works decent, not the best method...

Machine Lathe - works the best, but most don't have access to the equipment.

It's not really tapered, I've got over 1" cut off mine and it still threads on perfectly.. and it a awesomely short shift with the MBA billet ball shifter with the recessed threads.
