crazy oil pressure

crazy oil pressure

i have a 93z and the oil pressure is good driving and idling except when i hit the brakes to hard the oil pressure drops to flat out zero and comes back up when i come to a stop. is my engine getting ready to bite the dust? oh its got 191,000 miles on it original motor

My car is doing the exact same thing my motor has 70,000 miles on it. I was told that the oil pump pick up can become loose and move. I now alot people weld the pick-up to the oil pump so they won't have this problem.

have you checked your oil level lately? sounds like you need to add a quart

True I've had 2 fall off completly and finally welded it.

Yep, same thing happened to me. It was the oil pickup tube. Drain the oil then tap on the pan and see if you hear it moving around.
