crankshaft sprocket removal

95 Lt1 Camaro

I am trying to remove the crankshaft sprocket and have a 3 jaw puller but was wondering is there a key or something that needs to be removed before I can pull the sprocket off? The sprocket appears to have a notch on it. I was just wondering.

Thanks

just pull it off, the key should stay in the crank, but it may fall out

So no need to worry about the key or anything just pull it off with the puller? Just didn't want mess anything if I cranked down on the puller to get it off.

If you are taling about the pulley then it slides right off. If your talking about the thing that holds the pulley onto the crank then it requires a special puller with a steel tube that goes into the crake hole. If you are thlking about the timing sprocket that just comes off with a 3 jaw puller without too much grief.
