CPS reluctor ring and ses codes

I just finished a heads and cam swap in my car. Upon finishing up, I realized that I had forgotten to reinstall the CPS reluctor ring. Now, the car is throwing a 335, 336, and 154 codes, and running rough after driving it a little while. I was told that the 335 and 336 codes were CPS sensor codes, and the 154 code is one of the rear O2 sensor codes.

Is there more of a problem here than just the reluctor ring?

Will the reluctor ring codes make the engine run rough?

Will the CPS cause a 154 code? (i have O2 sims for the rear sensors, which seems weird that it would throw a rear O2 sensor code.)

Thanks in advance for any help,

Joe

Re: CPS reluctor ring and ses codes

The CPS codes will not effect driveability, but I hope the crank gear stays put with the space you left between the end of the hub and the gear.

P0154 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) insufficient signal activity Bank 2 Sensor 1

That's where your problem lies. It's the front sensor, not the rear. Check the wiring/connection or sensor.

Awesome, I am going to reinstall the reluctor ring today anyway, but it is good to know that the problem is an easy one to fix.

One last question, the reluctor ring goes on with the cup facing toward the front, right?

Thank you very much. You are a lifesaver.

Joe

I think so. It will probably be evident how it goes if you set the hub up against it.
