correct running temp
I have a stock 1995 z28. it had been running at 180 degrees but for the last couple of weeks it has been getting up to 210 degrees is this normal or could it be my thermostat that is going out? Any help would be greatly appreciated

The stock thermostat is 180*F. It doesn't even start to open until that temperature. Its not unusual for the coolant temp to stay near the middle of the gauge (~210*F) for most driving conditions, with the stock t'stat and stock fan on/off temp programming. Maybe a little lower at freeway speeds, maybe a little higher sitting in traffic on a hot day. If the temperature increase is most noticable at freeway speeds, check and make sure the air dam under the front bumper is still in place.

operating temp
I just finished install of an electric water pump. The stock pump was 3 years old. It wasn't all the way gone, but would hang, then spurt some coolant from the weep hole. Why most optisparks go out. Anyway, after the new pump, I have driven it in stop and go traffic,on 80 degree days. As long as I have the A/C or defrost on, the first fan will run constantly. Thats how the factory setting is. I haven't seen the gauge go above the 180 degree mark yet. It's a Mezeire HD 50gph pump.
If your running the a/c or defrost, and the first fan is running, you shouldn't be getting too hot. If you are, I would keep an eye on the water pump. Like I said, the seal/bearing on mine was beginning to seize.
