Cooling problem in computer?

My 96 Lt1 is not kicking on the right side cooling fan. My mech checked it out and said I need a new computer because its not telling it to come on. He checked the relay as well. Does this sound correct? He also found a leak in the fuel line. Could that in any way be why I have a miss at idle only. Thanks

Do a search for Fan ByPass to fix your fan issues as replacing your pcm will be expensive and not a garuntee that it will fix it. I would almost bet the problem with your fans is somewhere else.

also a leak in a fuel line would be pretty massive as the pressure threw the system, i would definatly look into this yourself to verify the problem.

Check Shoe's site at shbox.com (schematics/wiring) for fan crap.

It is not impossible, but the computer rarely has a problem like that. It is also difficult when you have to rely one someone else to "tell" you that something in particular is wrong. Not that I don't trust mechanics (lol), but they can often tell you something that is not the whole truth.
