cooling problem

I have a 94z and i just installed a summit electric water pump. My problem is that my car is now running at about 195 instead of 180. I put a factory thermostat back in and, Im wondering if i went with a 160 stat whether that will help keep it cooler even though I do not have my fans programed to come on then or will i just be wasting my money since my fans are not programed.
Ps I did bleed my valves with heat on high.

Re: cooling problem

It's normal for the engine to run 10°-20° higher than the thermostat setting. If you put in a 160° thermostat, you will run ~175°.
