coolant temp sensor

i need to replace the temp sensor in the head on my 97t/a and want to know if it goes into the water jacket or is it dry.

Wet. If you're quick on the draw you don't need to drain the fluid. Prep the new one with thread sealant (or teflon tape) remove the old one then stick the new one in.
