AFR heads = what headers?

my AFR heads have a square exhaust port and my Pacesetter longtubes are d-port.
the bottom of the head port is .250" below the d-port header/gasket = no way.

wtf?

any help appreciated

I did some research on header ports vs exhaust ports when building my 383. Hookers are pretty good since they have a rounded square port.

I would go with some hooker supercomps. I'm sure if you didn't get the coated pacesetters then they look horrible by noemw anyways. Mine looked bad after ten minutes of run time

Re: AFR heads = what headers?

They are expensive, but Kooks knows how to build a great long tube header. Perfect fitment, stainless steel, and I picked up 4-5mph in the 1/8th mile on that change alone(vs stock exhaust manifolds....other mods were CC503 1.6 rockers, and stock heads).

But again, it was very painful to my wallet. I will have to say it was worth it though. I've been meaning to post pictures of the install for about a year. I'll try to get them up soon in the exhaust section.
