coolant question
I took my car into the shop a while ago and had them flush the cooling system and when they refilled it they put in the green coolant instead of the red GM dexcool stuff or whatever it is. I didnt notice it till the other day when i was checking the coolant level. I called up the shop and they told me all they use is the green and that it really doesnt matter. Just wondering if this is true or if i should have flushed again and take it somewhere that will fill with the red coolant.
Note: the car has been running fine on the green the last month or so with no obvious problems or overheating.
thanks in advance for any input.

Re: coolant question
Dex Cool is crap. Better to have it out of the car. I have seen it turn to mud in more than one car.
The low coolant sensor is also fairly unreliable. Had to replace it in bothe mine and the wifes Z.

Re: coolant question
actually the same thing happened to me today. I took the car to have some maintence done on it, including the coolant flushed, and he asked what i wanted back in it. I asked him what he suggested and he said he preffered the green over the new stuff any day. that the red was junk.
