Convertible 1/4 mi times

I have a full weight 95Z M6 with only mods in sig. and has 3.42's. I am trying to get a good idea what it will take to get the car into the 11's or I would settle for high 12's DD. Can anyone running a convertible give some info on setup and times, anything from mild to wild. Also does anyone know what this bad boy weighs??

It weights more than a coupe, i know that, If you did a decent sized cam, you could probally be running in the high 12's.

I have not been to the strip yet, but there is little doubt that I am will be in the mid to low 12's on drag radials.
Check my sig.

Mine weighs about 3550, and I have no roll bar. You can add the roll bar weight if you want to be track legal. My mods and car are in my sig. I have more power than traction, and with some suspension mods this thing would go. My track times are also at 95 degrees. Another fbody ran the same et and trap as me that day and he runs 11.60's on cooler days.

My advice, if you want to go fast get a hard top. They look better, and you dont have to replace a $1500 top when it gets old. I wouldnt do any more than a cam on a stock long block if I did it again, and that should get ya 12's if you can drive it. An engine like mine belongs in a track legal hard top car. Anybody want to trade rolling chassis?

Mine is 3850 with all the added stuff and nothing taken off. It will not run 12's with just a cam. Mine ran low 14's stock (~1700ft DA) granny shifting an M6. Took stupid power to run just shy of 9.99.

Good thoughts.... I am on the right track then. I have a mild 355 in the works that will probably put me in the high 12's and I am happy about that. I was thinking that same thing about the top $$$ and then rollbar $$$ and weight...Current parts I have are:

Wiseco forged flat tops 4.030
6" Crower Sportsman rods
stock crank
Ai cam 208 / 221 525/ 540 112lsa
stock heads cleaned up 240 / 170 I believe
Probably Mac mid lengths
All this with M6 and stock gears though....3.42 for now. If I cant make it on that....then some spray
I do remember from 05 that I weighed my car and it came in at 3710 with me in it....I am about 180....so that would be about right...3530 lbs.
Anybody have pics of their convertible with a roll bar?

How fast do you want your convertible to go..... this is on the "wild" end...... Race weight was about 3,525#.

Thanks for the post.....I am quite happy with a 12 sec slip. I dont need anything crzzy for a DD, but I was curious and like to see different setups. I am really considering getting a honda or something to put this car on the weekend warrior but for the time being it will serve as my DD.
