Considering swap from cc306 to GM847 to help with my pinging problems.

The cc306 has an ABCD of 73 and leaves me at 8.9 on my dynamic compression
GM847 is ABCD 79 degrees would put me at 8.37
I really think one of my big problems here in OK is being stuck with crappy 91 gas. I know my current setup would run well with a good dyno tune.
Would it be pretty safe to say that the cam swap would iron out my pinging problems. Thats a pretty big drop in the dynamic compression, and the 847 would make more power across most of the board.

Well the machine shop that did my motor/heads said my current springs would be fine with the 847 since its not much more lift. He said for sure they won't be at coil bind because with the cc306 he set them up with .060 extra safety, so with another .020 on the exhaust it should still be @ .040 from coil bind. Worse case is they may float, just have to wait and see. Floating once on the dyno I can recover from and change springs.....
I am still running my old stock length hardened push rods, been going to by some chromolys, now I will wait for the new cam and remeasure.
I'm hunting for a good deal on an 847, if I don't find it by Monday I'll order from Jason.
Anyone got anything bad to say about me swapping cams?

i think you should work on your tune first then decided if your going to change cams.
lean air fuel will make it knock just like too much timing.
