New 1/4 mi times inside....opinions needed

Last night I ran the car for the first time since the heads/cam package. Track hooked pretty well and the temp was around 70. My best run was:

R/T- .021
60' - 2.153
330'- 5.629
1/8- 8.42
MPH- 87.09
1000'-10.895
1/4- 12.930
MPH- 110.74

I was on crummy street tires and babied it off the line. How much more can I get out of her with some Nittos? I thought I would go mid 12's easy....
What do you guys think?

Thanks! Brad

I agree some sticky tires and a good launch will shave a good half second offyour 1/4 time.

The trap speed looks pretty high so that is a good thing I would think with some good tires and a good launch you could see mid 12's.

About the times I ran with a very similiar setup. My clutch is slipping and only got one day at the track with the new setup, so agreed better 60's will help et's.

If you can get the 60' down to 1.7 it will run lower 12's pretty easily. It shouldn't be hard to get the car to hook with ET Streets. 110mph is good for low 12's for sure. Later Clint

Thanks guys, I heard that .3 off the 60' would mean about .6 off the ET. What are my chances of grenading the rear with Nittos or ET Streets?

The amount of time you save from a quicker 60' is dependant on the vehicle in question. Typically you can get .15 for every .10 you shave in the 60'.

Now I would be wondering about the rearend now.

Yeah M6 cars tend to be real hard on rears...Nittos hook decent, BFGs are better, and M/T radials are awesome...I would save for a rear though. I recommend 255 50 R16 M/T DRs on stock 16x8s. They will definitely work better than what you are using now...You could easily knock off .5 seconds...

I knocked off 1/2 second on a pretty much stock car with Nittos. Went from a 14.05 down to 13.48. 60' was still only a 2.0, but the clutch had a lot to do with that. Got a new one in and hopefully looking for 1.9's this year, don't want to be too hard on the rear.

its will live longer on the nittos but you have the chance of still blowing it.

work on the 60'...et is decided greatly in the first 300 ft. Hp carries you the rest of the way so work on launching the car. I was cutting 1.8s on 17" Nittos when I was stock with bolt ons. Just need to learn what your car wants.

I prefer the BFG drag radials. Get a pair of those and I think you will see 12.40-12.50 easy, and probably even better depending on how good you are at shifting.
