Re: Computer problem

There are four possible causes of DTC 18:

- not having ~12 volts on the pink wire at each connector. Are you sure you checked all 8 connectors correctly?

- injector resistance out of range. You already ruled this out.

- PCM not supplying a ground. I covered all of this in post #16. Did you check for a ground on each injector with a ‘noid light?

- loose, corroded or shorted injector harness wires causing intermittent circuit shorts or opens. Inspect, jiggle wires, see if the code sets.

I’m having a very hard time sending the diagnostic info to you. Do you have a direct email?

Re: Computer problem

I don't think reviewing the file will do much. If you are still getting DTC 18, you have to look for the wiring problem. There is nothing in the file that will solve that problem.

Ok thanks. I removed all of the emission stuff off and it also is programmed for a 4l60e it has a turbo 400 now. None of that stuff has been removed from the computer. Could this cause this problem? This weekend I’m going to take the harness apart and look at it very closely.

Re: Computer problem

You were correct. The problem was wiring. I had to completely rewire the fuse block. There were several bad wires. Thanks for all of your help

Re: Computer problem

Glad it worked out for you. Thanks for the followup, so we know what the problem was. Wish everyone would do that.
